Westmoreland County Park Police are investigating a report of a suspicious vehicle at Mammoth Park in Mt. Pleasant Township on Saturday, according to Chief Henry Fontana.

A couple of men in a van at the park made some park-goers feel uncomfortable, but by the time officers arrived the van had departed, Fontana said.

A Sunday post on social media that claimed children at the park were grabbed by the men in the van is inaccurate, he said.

“None of that is true,” he said. “We got a call but nobody was abducted, there was no attempted abduction.”

Police are still trying to find out more about the van and those inside of it.
