Fundraisers

• Bullskin Township Senior Center will host a fall craft and vendor fair and flea market from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 26 at the center, 52 Medsger Road. The kitchen will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Details: Lisa, 724-887-0655 or btwpsc@yahoo.com.

• Mon Valley Paws will sponsor a flea market and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 26 at the St. Vincent De Paul Society, 1701 Grand Blvd., Monessen.

• Youngwood Lions will host a pancake, sausage and egg breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. Oct. 26 at Christ United Methodist Church, 100 Lincoln St., Youngwood. Dine in or takeout. Cost: $8; children 6 to 12, $4.

• Greensburg Business and Professional Association will sponsor a scarecrow contest in downtown Greensburg. Voting will continue through Oct. 28 at local stores. Cost: $1 per vote. Proceeds will benefit local charities. The winner will be announced Oct. 31.

• St. John United Church of Christ, 1320 Brownstown Road, Larimer, North Huntingdon. will sponsor a sauerkraut dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Oct. 26 at the church. Menu: kielbasa, pork roast, hot dog, sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, green beans, bread and homemade dessert. Dine in or takeout. Cost: $12; 12 and younger, $6. Tickets: Lillian, 724-493-8982.

• Independence Latrobe Hospital Advanced Lung Center will sponsor a fundraiser walk Nov. 2 at The Square at Latrobe, 100 Excela Health Drive, Unity. Check-in will be at 9 a.m. and there will be basket and 50-50 raffles. Opening ceremonies will be at 9:30 a.m. and the walk will begin at 10 a.m. Advance registration is recommended. • A craft show will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 26 at St. James Lutheran Church, 4329 Route 982, Youngstown. Food and baked goods will be sold.

Halloween

• Mon Valley Paws will sponsor its annual Halloweentown pet costume contest from noon to 2 p.m. Oct. 26 at Pet Supplies Plus, 10 Sara Way, Rostraver. Prizes will be awarded for scariest, most creative, funniest, best group, best small and large pets, and best overall. Details: 724-493-8305.

• Level Green Presbyterian Church, 105 Olive Drive, Trafford, will have a community trunk-or-treat for families from 2 to 4 p.m. Oct. 27 at the church. No scary or violent costumes. There will be a StoryWalk, face painting, pizza, cookies and refreshments. Rain or shine.

• Historic Hanna’s Town, 809 Forbes Trail Road, Hempfield, will host a Fall Family Day from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 26. Members of Proctor’s Militia will be encamped and there will be fall crafts, toys, games and activities, demonstrations and guided tours up to the cemeteries on the hill. Costumed children are welcome to trick-or-treat around the historic site. The Westmoreland History Shop will be open. Cost: $10; seniors, $8; students through 12th grade, $6; 5 and younger and Westmoreland Historical Society members, free. Jack-o-lantern tours will be offered at 6, 6:30 and 7 p.m. Oct. 25 and 26. Library News

• Greensburg Hempfield Area Library will offer a free genealogy program “Researching with MyHeritage” with Donna Edwards-Jordan at 1 p.m. Oct. 26 at the library, 237 S. Pennsylvania Ave, Greensburg. Details: 724-837-5620.

Special Event

• An event for those who need help to replace their hard-to-read license plate will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 26 at the Murrysville Municipal Building, 4100 Sardis Road. Sponsored by Pa. Rep. Jill Cooper and the Murrysville Police Department. Bring current vehicle registration and your drivers license.
