Fundraisers

• St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, Greensburg, will sponsor a bingo at 1 p.m. March 1 at the church, 624 E. Pittsburgh St. Doors open at noon. Cost: $10, includes four bingo cards and a chance for a door prize. Food, drinks and extra bingo cards will be sold and there will be a basket raffle and 50-50.

• Community Church of Hecla will sponsor a basket and cash bingo at 1 p.m. March 1 at the church, 537 Hecla Road, Mt. Pleasant Township. Doors open at noon. A light lunch will be available. Details: 724-396-8065 or 724-244-2586.

• Jeannette American Legion will host bingo at 1 p.m. March 1 at the post, 109 S. Fifth St. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. Cost: $25 per packet, includes regular and special games. There will be a $750 jackpot game, magic number, door prizes and 50-50. The kitchen will be open. Smoke-free venue. Proceeds benefit veterans and community activities. Details: Rick, 724-600-5061.

Meetings

• Westmoreland Area Nurses Association will meet at 4 p.m. March 2 at The Boulevard, 900 Towne Square Drive, Hempfield. No reservations required. Details: Cordie, 412-841-8529.

Special events

• The 51st annual Westmoreland County Prayer Breakfast will be held 7 to 9 a.m. March 6 at Stratigos Banquet Center, 131 Colonial Manor Road, North Huntingdon. The theme will be “Our Calling to Care: Impacting Our County Through Service.” The keynote speaker will be Rob Hamilton, Westmoreland County director of human services. • The Greensburg-Jeannette NAACP Prayer Luncheon will be held 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 7 at Giannilli’s II, Route 30, Unity. The Rev. Carl E. Jones Sr. of Greater Parkview Church in Greensburg will be the guest preacher. Cost: $40; 10 and younger, $10. Advance tickets required.
