Children’s event
• Protect PT’s Environmental Education Center will sponsor a free winter wildlife seminar for children in kindergarten through sixth grade from 1 to 3 p.m. Feb. 5 at the center, 3344 Route 130, Harrison City. Classes
• A Seniors for Safe Driving class will be offered from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Feb. 15 at Redstone Highlands, 12921 Lincoln Highway, North Huntingdon. The class is PennDOT approved and for drivers who are at least 55 years old. Safe drivers can receive a 5% discount on auto insurance for three years. Cost: $16. Fundraisers
• The Penn-Trafford Competitive Cheer team will showcase their skills at a performance set for 7 p.m. Feb. 1 at the high school, 3381 Route 130, Harrison City. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. There will be games, basket raffles, baked goods and a 50/50. Donations will be accepted to fund the team’s trip to the nationals competition.
• A takeout stuffed chicken breast dinner to benefit the West Newton Women’s Club will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Feb. 4 at Gary’s Chuckwagon, 109 Second St., West Newton. • Sam’s Club Greensburg will sponsor a Valentine’s designer purse bash and luncheon to benefit Children’s Miracle Network from noon to 4 p.m. Feb. 5 at the Antonelli Event Center, 100 Colony Drive, Irwin. • Community Revitalization of West Newton will host a prom for adults Feb. 25 in the West Newton gymnasium.
