Westmoreland happenings: Christmas Eve service, food drive, more

Church News

• Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1120 Harvey Ave., Greensburg, will have a Christmas Eve service at 7:30 p.m. led by the Rev. Jennifer Frayer-Griggs. Details: 724-837-3540 or wpcgreensburg.org.

Fundraiser

• Protect PT is accepting donations of nonperishable food and personal items for the Westmoreland Food Bank through Jan. 2. Food items must not be in glass jars. Most requested items include canned tuna, chicken and salmon; canned fruit and vegetables, peanut butter, macaroni and cheese and boxed meals such as Hamburger Helper. Nonfood items needed include diapers, feminine hygiene products, detergent, shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothpaste, aluminum foil and paper products. Donations should be dropped off from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays at the office, 3344 Route 130, Harrison City.

Senior Citizen News

• Irwin Senior Activity Center will be closed Dec. 20 to Jan. 2 for the holiday break and will reopen Jan. 7.

Submissions from nonprofit organizations for Briefly Speaking should be emailed to cpinto-smith@triblive.com. Include a complete address and daytime phone number. Submissions are due at least two weeks prior to the event. Each announcement is printed once; there is no fee.
