Westmoreland County sets record for covid-19 case average, 7-day total

Westmoreland County added 89 new covid-19 cases Tuesday, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

There were no new coronavirus-related deaths reported.

Cases now near the 3,000-mark with 2,993 total cases as of Tuesday. The death total remains at 64.

In the county, there are 35 covid-19 patients hospitalized, with four on ventilators.

Records have been set and reset recently in Westmoreland County, as new reported coronavirus cases continue to increase. The current record for most new covid-19 cases reported was 90 on Monday.

The seven-day average (70 cases) and seven-day total (493 cases) in the county are records.
