Westmoreland County Senior Games continue through Friday

The baseball throw event was judged by longest distance. “This is the best thing the county could do for us,” said Peterson, who has been participating in the Westmoreland County Senior Games for 12 years.

The 40th annual Westmoreland County Senior Games are taking place through Friday. Anyone over the age of 50 can participate in the annual events organized by the Westmoreland County Bureau of Parks and Recreation. Wednesday’s events, held at at Warriors’ Stadium at Penn-Trafford High School, were 100-meter run, 400-meter run, 1,500-meter run, football throw, softball throw and 2,400-meter walking. The event runs through Friday, and concludes with an evening banquet.
