A day after Westmoreland County saw its 10th highest day of new covid-19 cases, just 11 new cases were added Monday.

In the same report, the Pennsylvania Department of Health added no new covid-19 deaths to the county’s total of 43.

Of the latest batch of individuals testing positive, all but one were confirmed.

The state has reported a total of 1,313 cases of the novel coronavirus in the county since the pandemic began in March.

From late April through mid June, the county saw an average of just two cases per day. Since June 17, Westmoreland County is averaging 20 new cases a day.

Overall, 27,503 people have tested negative for covid-19, a positivity rate of 4.8%.

Of all counties in Pennsylvania, Westmoreland ranks 17th in number of cases and 21st in number of deaths.
