Dozens of male athletes took to the streets of Greensburg Saturday — in high heels.

The 14th annual “Walk a Mile in Her Shoes” event, hosted by the Blackburn Center, is meant to raise awareness and support for victims of gender-based domestic and sexual violence. Participants from the Greensburg Salem football team and Pitt-Greensburg men’s soccer team walked a mile and back along Maple Avenue.

Afterward, Westmoreland County Community College’s social work club hosted a “stone soup” demonstration, where participants wrote messages of support to domestic/sexual violence survivors on stones and tossed them into a communal pot.
