Medical helicopters took two people to the hospital after a Monday morning crash in East Huntingdon, according to Westmoreland County 911.

The two-vehicle crash on Porter Avenue — also known as Route 819 — happened just before 7 a.m. One vehicle went over an embankment and was heavily damaged, with one person trapped, dispatchers said.

Porter Avenue was shut down as of 9 a.m.
