A woman accused a Trafford man of assaulting and choking her inside an apartment and told police she ran inside a neighbor’s apartment for safety late Friday, according to court documents.

Police arrived at Cavitt Avenue to find Kevin L. Krivansky, 49, who lives nearby, attempting to force his way through the apartment door at 11:30 p.m., court papers said.

Officer Gerald Myers reported that Krivansky began “yelling at officers to get back and the issue was between he and his girlfriend.”

As officers attempted to calm the situation, Myers said Krivansky refused to follow commands and began physically struggling with officers.

“I will not listen to you. I am in charge,” Myers said Krivansky told police as he tried to force his way into the apartment.

Police used a Taser to subdue Krivansky before placing him in handcuffs, according to court papers.

The woman told police that Krivansky followed her home from a nearby bar, entered her apartment and began physically assaulting her when she told him to leave. Myers reported that red marks were visible on her neck.

Krivansky is charged with two counts each of criminal mischief for damaging two doors and resisting arrest and single counts of simple assault and strangulation. He was ordered held in the county jail on $10,000 bond.

According to online dockets, Krivansky, who also has lived in East Pittsburgh and Pitcairn, pleaded guilty in 2000 in Allegheny County to a charge of resisting arrest in connection with an incident in Swissvale. He was sentenced to probation for two years.
