State police will be holding a child passenger seat safety check on Sept. 23 in Hempfield.

The event will be held 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hempfield Township Athletic Complex at 220 Forbes Trail Road. The checks are free and will be conducted by a trooper from the state police Greensburg station.

It will be held rain or shine. Troopers can check that a seat is installed safely or demonstrate how to do it.
