A scratch-off ticket worth $3 million was sold to a 30-year-old Indiana County man at the Giant Eagle in Ligonier, the Pennsylvania Lottery announced Tuesday.
The ticket sold was a MONOPOLY 100X scratch-off, the lottery said. The store at 117 South Walnut St. will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
“I heard a couple of days ago that someone purchased the winning ticket here, but I don’t know who it is,” said store Manager Rich Ross.
In its news release announcing the big jackpot winning ticket, the lottery did not disclose when the ticket was sold, but reported that the ticket was signed and turned in Monday.
“I believe it is the largest amount anyone has won on a ticket here,” Ross said.
MONOPOLY 100X is a $30 game that offers top prizes of $3 million.
A scratch-off ticket worth $1 million was sold in the UPMC Mercy Gift Shop in Pittsburgh last month. That ticket was on a Mining for Millions ticket, a $20 game that offers five top prizes of $1 million. So far, four $1 million prizes remain, according to the state lottery website.

Scratch-off prizes expire one year from the game’s end-sale date posted at palottery.com. Winners should immediately sign the back of their ticket and call 800-692-7481.
