A Derry Township man is accused of assaulting a woman and repeatedly striking two children with a belt, according to court records.

Iszac T. Dallar, 32, was arrested and arraigned Friday on charges of aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury, making terroristic threats and three counts each of harassment and simple assault.

A criminal complaint filed in the case said Dallar was arrested at 8:15 a.m. at his residence on Murtha Way after state troopers responded to a 911 call in which a child told dispatchers that “someone is hitting my mom and then hung up.”

Dallar was outside when troopers arrived and told them that someone had called 911 because he was arguing with a woman inside, but he denied striking anyone, police said.

When troopers went inside the residence, they said they found a woman sitting at a kitchen table with a swollen eye “that was turning red and purple,” according to court documents. The woman also had multiple bruises and scratches on her legs and arms, police said.

The woman later told troopers that she suffered some of the injuries when she jumped out of a moving car on June 10 when Dallar began striking her during an argument as they drove to a local store, the complaint said.

Troopers said they went upstairs and found a 14-year-old boy who admitted calling 911 “because Dallar was threatening to kill my mom.”

Troopers said the boy had numerous red marks across his legs and he told them that they were caused by Dallar repeatedly striking him with a belt. Police said they also interviewed an 8-year-old girl who also “had a belt mark on her leg” where she said Dallar had struck her.

Dallar was taken to Westmoreland County Prison after failing to post $150,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 29.
