An Allegheny County man was arrested Tuesday after state police said they found six bricks of suspected heroin in his car during a traffic stop on Route 22 in Salem, according to court papers.
Michael Patrick Crawley, 39, of Carrick, was being held in the Westmoreland County Prison on $100,000 bond on drug and related offenses.
Troopers got a tip that Crawley was going to deliver heroin to someone in Westmoreland County, according to court papers. Investigators set up on Route 22 in Murrysville and Salem about 10:15 a.m. Tuesday when they spotted Crawley driving eastbound, police said.
After stopping his vehicle for having a suspended registration, troopers said they found 311 bags of suspected heroin and a plastic bag containing about 3 grams of raw heroin in the driver’s side door. Police said Crawley has a bench warrant out of Bedford County.
Crawley’s parole was revoked in August for a 2018 marijuana possession case there, according to court records. He did not have an attorney listed in the new case. A preliminary hearing is set for Jan. 27.
