With leaves falling and temperatures dropping, pie season is officially here.

Latrobe’s final Shop Hop Night of 2022 will allow locals to sample pies and “pie” the faces of notable community members on Wednesday.

The Fall Fest Pie Walk, which kicks off at 4 p.m., will feature 10 different sample pies baked by Latrobe’s Aroma Italiano, as well as a pizza pie made by Scotty G’s Pizzeria.

Participants also will have the opportunity to “pie” community members at 6:30 p.m. Those interested must bid to pie their person of choice.

The walk is returning this year after it was well received in 2021, Latrobe Art Center Executive Director Michael Tusay said.

“We had such a wonderful response from last year’s event participants and can’t wait to overwhelm their taste buds with an even larger quantity and selection of pies baked by Aroma Italiano this year,” Tusay said.

The art center is one of 11 merchants and organizations that will participate in this year’s walk, which ends at 7 p.m.

Pies will be available to sample at the following locations:

  • Strawberry pie: Eclectique
  • Pumpkin: Greater Latrobe-Laurel Valley Chamber of Commerce
  • Dutch Apple: Green Goddess
  • Peach: Ground Zero Pittsburgh
  • Cherry: Mangata Massage & Holistic Practices
  • Apple: RKM Kitchen
  • Coconut: Rose Style Shoppe
  • Chocolate: Terri’s Gourmet Sweet Treats
  • Cheesecake: The Paper Heart
  • Lemon Meringue: 512 Coffee & Ice Cream
  • Pizza: Latrobe Art Center

Tickets to the $5 event can be purchased here or on Shop Hop Night’s Facebook page. Attendees should check in at the Chamber of Commerce between 4 and 6 p.m. before they start to taste the pies.

Walk-up participants can purchase tickets with cash while supplies last.

Bidding to “pie” community members starts at 4 p.m. and ends at 6 p.m. at the Chamber of Commerce.
