“Sounds of Summer” was the theme for the July 14 Art on Tap happy hour at The Westmoreland Museum of American Art in Greensburg.

It was a clever link to the weekly SummerSounds concert that would follow in nearby St. Clair Park.

Following the museum’s happy hour, guests were encouraged to party on in the park with the Lao Tizer Band. A return favorite of the SummerSounds series, the group blends jazz, new age and jam rock music in its tunes.

Fun on the museum terrace and surrounding grounds included lawn games like cornhole and giant Jenga, along with a karaoke quiz card.

Vocalist Brooke Miller and guitarist PJ Cooligan, known as The Belladonnas, played rock covers and other classic favorites.

Museum staffers Leah Bisko and Tessa Bayle poured custom margaritas, wine and local beers for the 21-and-older crowd.

Inside was a buffet table featuring a build-your-own hot dog bar. The community room was open for those wanting a cool respite from the sultry summer evening.

Guests also were encouraged to search out works included in the current “Block Party” exhibition for a scavenger hunt, lured by a prize of a $25 gift card for the museum shop.

Seen at the museum: Ken and Lynn Cutway, Bill Jamison, Barbara Ferrier, Tim and Nina Edgar, Livvie DeLuca, Donna McCullough, Meggin Ayers, Paul and Kearsten Adams, Amber McAlister, Pat Cassidy, Joe and Sue Marotta, Courtney D’Angelo and Greg Smith, David Steimer and Annie Urban, Michael and Susan Patrick, Matt Barron, Perkka and Sarajane Wanjohi, Suzanne English, Doreen Blandino, Mark and Judy Chrisman, Dana Detar, Mark Lopushansky and George and Cara Lincoln.
