A week after being hit by a burglar, police said a robber held up the Dollar General store in Scottdale on Tuesday and fled with an undetermined amount of cash.
The robbery occurred at the downtown store at 412 Pittsburgh St. about 9:30 pm., store manager Mark Pine said. He said no one was injured.
Pine deferred further comment to borough police who did not immediately return calls seeking comment.
Police have posted several photographs taken of a man, wearing a ball cap and dark clothing, who burglarized the store overnight after the store closed Aug. 6. The suspect’s face was covered by a mask.
“The actor entered the Dollar General on August 7th overnight,” the Facebook post said. “The suspect wore something over his face to blur his identity.”
The burglar entered the store by breaking out the glass in one of the two front entrance doors. Police did not disclose what was stolen during the burglary in the social media post.
On April 22, a 42-year-old Scottdale man, Clyde Mensch, was sentenced to serve up to 10 years in prison for holding up the same store on Christmas Eve and fleeing with $402. Mensch’s sentence also included his admission of committing armed robberies of another convenience store in East Huntingdon and two area gas stations.
Anyone with any information on either the burglary or robbery is asked to notify police by calling 911.
