North Huntingdon police are looking for a man who became irate after being refused a motel room Saturday because he didn’t have cash to pay for it.

Investigators said the man left Hiland Terrace Motel on Route 30 around 6:30 a.m. and a clerk locked the door behind him. When the suspect came back, he allegedly kicked in the office’s exterior door and ran through the office. He tried to break into a second door that led to the home of the motel’s owner, but the clerk held the door closed with his body and the suspect left, police said.

The suspect is described as a black man who was wearing a light-colored long-sleeve shirt. The surveillance video released by police showed him shouting at a clerk while leaving.

Anyone with information about the suspect’s identity is asked to call police at 724-863-8800.
