Emergency workers pulled a dump truck driver from his truck Wednesday morning after it overturned and blocked a Murrysville road, according to Westmoreland County dispatch.

The truck rolled over just off the road at Pleasant Valley Road near Trafford Road around 8 a.m.

The man was removed from the truck around 8:40 a.m. His medical condition was unknown.

Murrysville police said Pleasant Valley Road reopened just before 11 a.m.

Police Chief Tom Seefeld said the tri-axel truck, which was hauling road milling, was headed north along Trafford Road when the truck apparently had a brake malfunctuion. The driver tried to slow down at the bottom of a hill and made a slight right turn onto Pleasant Valley Road, where the truck overturned.

The driver sustained minor injuries, Seefeld said. No one else was involved.

The chief said police will inspect the truck.
