A 55-year-old man was arrested for stalking and related charges by Murrysville police after a former girlfriend said he entered her yard to look through her windows and repeatedly drove his car along her street.

Brian Begor of Mt. Lebanon was arraigned Tuesday on multiple charges of harassment, prowling and loitering and stalking by police.

Police said the woman called police just before 11 p.m. Monday to report she saw Begor in her yard and earlier in the evening saw him repeatedly drive past her residence.

Officer Scott Kettren said patrol cars responded to streets in the vicinity of the woman’s residence and as he drove along Field Stream Drive he noticed a man “with a tall, thin build” with greying hair suddenly take up “a jogger’s pace.”

However, Kettren said as he drove close he noticed the man wore light-colored denim pants, a hooded jacket and slip-on casual loafer shoes.

“I felt this clothing was inconsistent with what someone who was jogging for exercise would be wearing,” Kettren wrote in court documents.

When Kettren stopped and questioned Begor, he admitted he had been at the woman’s residence earlier and described their relationship as “on and off” and claimed he had been invited there.

However, Kettren said he asked Begor “why he would be prowling around if he was invited?”

Begor was warned after previous incidents to stay away from the woman or he could face criminal charges, Kettren said in court papers.

The woman told police that her relationship with Begor ended in late 2021. She said she has had a relative staying with her due to an “increase in unwanted behavior” by Begor, including unwanted text messages.

Begor did not return telephone calls seeking comment. He did not have an attorney listed in court documents.

He was released from the county prison Tuesday after posting $10,000 bond pending a preliminary hearing March 29.
