Morning Roundup: Another pedestrian hit in Pittsburgh; fire damages East Huntington home

Another pedestrian hit in Pittsburgh
For the second day in a row, a pedestrian has been hit by a vehicle in Pittsburgh.
Police, firefighters and paramedics responded early Friday to a report of a pedestrian struck in the 500 block of First Avenue, shortly before 5 a.m.
One person was taken to a hospital, according to Allegheny County 911. No other information was immediately available.
On Thursday, Jeremy Danielle Leval, 48, was killed when he was hit by a box truck in the area of Forbes Avenue and Pride Street in the city’s Uptown neighborhood.
Police said Leval had stumbled into the road and was dead when first responders arrived.
East Huntington house fire
No injuries were reported in a house fire in East Huntington early Friday morning.
The fire at 258 Ruffsdale Road was reported around 1:30 a.m.
Two people were living in the house, located behind Marsh Automotive.
Firefighters from 10 departments responded to the call, according to Westmoreland County 911. No firefighters were reported hurt.
Information on the extent of the damage and cause of the fire was not immediately available.
Caution advised for Friday morning commute
Lingering light snow showers will make roads wet Friday morning, says Ashley Dougherty, a meteorologist with TribLive news partner WTAE.
No significant accumulation is expected, but there could be some icy spots on roads, she said.
A winter weather advisory is in place for the higher elevations in Westmoreland, Fayette and Indiana counties until 7 a.m.
Temperatures are forecast to rise into the weekend, reaching the low-to-mid 40s by early next week. The next chance for precipitation will be Tuesday with rain showers.
After light snow showers taper off late this morning, the region will see dry weather and rising temperature through Sunday. Then, an active weather pattern may return during the next work week.
