Morning Roundup: 1 injured in shooting outside UPMC McKeesport; fire in Unity

Shooting in McKeesport
Allegheny County Police are investigating a shooting early Tuesday morning outside of UPMC McKeesport Hospital that left a man critical condition.
Police and first responders were called to the area of the hospital along Fifth Avenue around 3:16 a.m., according to Allegheny County Police. TribLive news partner WTAE reported the hospital was surrounded by police tape with several shell casings visible on the ground.
County police said a UPMC police officer fired multiple shots during the incident, but they do not believe anyone was struck by the officer’s gunfire.
Police said they believe the victim may have been trying to force his way into a vehicle when the shooting took place. No arrests have been announced.

No injuries in Unity house fire
No one was reported injured after an early morning house fire in Unity.
Fire crews were called to the 1600 block of Route 130, where they knocked down the fire in a single-story home.
