Days into this year’s Greensburg Craft Beer Week, beer lovers are venturing out to get a taste of the latest local brews.

The weeklong event, which began last Friday and runs through Sunday, has attracted “a pretty good turnout” so far, said organizer Jessica Hickey of the Downtown Greensburg Project. She noted that, as the week goes on, the number of events and attendees will increase.

So far this week, several events have taken place, including Home Brew + Chill, where 20 home brewers presented their beers. Attendees had the opportunity to sample more than 60 beers and vote on their favorite. In addition, the 2021 collaboration beer was released — a dry-hopped lager — and several fundraisers were held that benefited local charities.

Looking to the rest of the week, the number of events will continue to increase, with some of the larger events including Oktoberfest at All Saints Brewing, the Brewmuda Triangle bus tour and the Greensburg Parking Lot Party.

Oktoberfest and the Brewmuda Triangle are both scheduled for Saturday. Oktoberfest will begin at 2 p.m. at the Route 119 facility. The event will feature Alle-Kiski Valley’s Sourmash, which recently won Entertainer of the Year in the “Rock” category at the Josie Music Awards.

The Brewmuda Triangle runs from noon to 8 p.m. The three-brewery bus tour will take attendees to Yellow Bridge Brewing in Delmont, Devout Brewing in Penn and Helltown Brewing in Export. The bus makes rounds every 30 minutes to each location. Food will be available at each location.

Craft Beer Week will end with the Greensburg Parking Lot Party, which is scheduled for Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. The event will feature live music, yard games, brews from Quinn Brewing, drinks from Hugo’s Taproom and several food trucks including Cilantro & Ajo, Hoshi and the Big Black Grill.

The event will take place in the Win Albright Parking Lot behind Green Beacon Gallery at 235 W. Pittsburgh St.

“We should hopefully get a good turnout for this one to end the week,” Hickey said.
