An Allegheny County man was arrested this week by Irwin police on charges of assaulting and pointing a loaded gun at a relative during an argument July 7.

Raymond T. Musgrove Jr., 18, of Monroeville, was arraigned on multiple counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a firearm without a license, reckless endangerment and simple assault.

Police said the relative came to the police station to report he was injuredabout 11 p.m., after an altercation with Musgrove.

Musgrove and the man were arguing over a handgun the man found laying in a pile of clothes inside an apartment on the 7400 block of Beatty Drive, according to court documents.

The man told police Musgrove entered the apartment, placed a magazine containing three red-tipped bullets in the handgun and cocked it “before placing it in his waistband … and later pointing it (at the man) … with his finger on the trigger.”

The man told police Musgrove then punched him in his jaw and face, causing him to fall during the struggle. Police documented injuries to the man’s face, swelling under his left eye and brush burns on both knees that were caused during the struggle, according to court documents.

Musgrove fled the apartment with the handgun, police said.

Musgrove was ordered held in the county jail after failing to post $75,000 bond. He faces a preliminary hearing Aug. 3.

He did not have an attorney listed in court documents.
