Jeannette man accused of pointing gun at woman who pulled over near his home

A Jeannette man is being held without bond after police said he pointed a gun at a woman who pulled over in front of his house to tend to her sick son in the backseat.

Christopher Jamal Jackson, 23, is charged with weapons violations, intimidation of a witness, aggravated assault and related offenses.

The woman reported that at 11:19 p.m. Saturday she was driving on Gaskill Avenue when the boy began crying and vomiting, according to court papers. She pulled over on North Fifth Street, and Jackson came outside of his Gaskill Avenue home, demanding to know who she was, police said.

She recognized him and got back into the vehicle, trying to leave. The woman told police he pointed a handgun at her and threatened to shoot her, according to court papers. The police report does not state why the woman recognized Jackson.

The woman got away and told police that Jackson and his friends offered her $500 to not report the incident to police or testify against him, according to court papers. Jackson surrendered Tuesday and was denied bond, according to online court records.

He did not have an attorney listed. A March 5 preliminary hearing is set.
