Home destroyed by fire, 3 injured in Hempfield
A house in Hempfield burned down and three people living there were burned early Saturday morning, according to a Westmoreland County 911 dispatcher.
Three residents of the single-family home were taken to UPMC Mercy hospital in Pittsburgh with burns suffered in the fire, which started at 12:45 a.m., the dispatcher said. The house, which the dispatcher said was deemed to be a total loss, was at 1946 Clawson Ave.
Neither the dispatcher or Mutual Aid Ambulance, which assisted, had condition updates on the burn victims Saturday afternoon.
Midway-St. Clair Volunteer Fire Department in Hempfield was the lead responding department. No firefighters were injured fighting the blaze.
The dispatcher said the state police fire marshal will investigate the incident, which is routine after a fire involving injuries.
