A Hempfield woman tightly clutched her young daughter and sobbed as she stood before a Westmoreland County judge to admit she provided the drugs that killed a Greensburg man.
Hollie Ann Schreiber, 40, could face up to 40 years in prison when she is sentenced. On Tuesday, she pleaded guilty to charges of drug delivery resulting in death and conspiracy in connection with the Jan. 14, 2019, overdose death of Christopher Holleran. The 28-year-old was found dead in the Culbertson Avenue apartment that he shared with his girlfriend and their infant.
Schreiber was one of three people responsible for providing Holleran with fentanyl-laced heroin, police said.
“It was with great reluctance she decided to plead guilty,” said defense attorney Patricia Elliott-Rentler. “She’s really turned her life around and is dealing with her addiction.”
The guilty plea did not include a sentencing recommendation from prosecutors. Judge Megan Bilik-DeFazio said she would sentence Schreiber in about three months after an investigation by the county’s probation office.
Schreiber remains free on an unsecured $75,000 bond.
She served about four months in jail in 2019 following her arrest but was released to give birth to her daughter.
Co-defendant Andrew Hohn, 35, of Hempfield pleaded guilty in October. He was sentenced to serve 10 to 20 years in prison. A third defendant, Francesco Ziegler, 30, of Irwin awaits trial on charges of drug delivery resulting in death and conspiracy.
Police contend Ziegler put Holleran in contact with Schreiber and Hohn, who together bought heroin at a Monroeville gas station and sold five stamp bags to Holleran.
