The annual Hempfield Spring Craft and Vendor Show will gather local vendors and craft enthusiasts to the township this Saturday to benefit Hempfield’s parks.

The event runs 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Hempfield Township Athletic Complex, 220 Forbes Trail Road.

According to Marissa Haynes, interim director of parks and recreation, this year’s craft show, one of two craft shows held by the township each year, is bigger than usual.

“Our holiday show usually has consistently 100 vendors,” she said. “This year, (for the spring show), we maxed out with a waiting list.”

The event’s more than 100 local vendors will show off their handmade wares, ranging from crafts and décor to jewelry and other items, she said. A basket raffle and 50/50, along with the proceeds from vendor registrations, will benefit the Hempfield Parks Fund and the Hempfield Township Parks and Recreation Revitalization Project.

The parks fund, through the Community Foundation of Westmoreland County, helps “grow the park as a whole,” Haynes said.

“Any of our current or future facilities that we are looking to improve, it will support planning construction and ongoing improvements to anything within Hempfield Parks and Recreation,” she explained.

Admission is free, and concessions will be available.
