People flock to downtown Greensburg for the Greensburg Night Market in 2022.

The Greensburg Night Market returns for a seventh season this week, expecting once again to draw thousands of people to browse vendor tents and enjoy live music along South Pennsylvania Avenue.

The Night Market was launched by Jessica Hickey, owner of the Downtown Greensburg Project, in 2019 — featuring just 28 vendors lined along half a block of South Pennsylvania Avenue.

This season, more than 150 food, beverage, art and craft vendors will participate, stretching across four blocks — between West Otterman and West Fourth streets — and two parking lots. Last season drew about 5,000 to 7,000 people per market, according to Hickey.

The markets take place once a month, typically on Thursdays, from 5:30 to 9 p.m., April through December. Markets are slated for April 24, May 29, June 26, July 31, Aug. 28, Sept. 25, Oct. 30, Nov. 19 and Dec. 11.

Farmers, bakers, artists, crafters and food trucks will sell their items this season, including fruits and vegetables, honey, meats, flowers, plants, dips and salsas. Children’s activities, photo booths and live music also can be expected.

Holiday gifts and items will be sold at the November and December markets.

City parking lots and street parking are free after 4 p.m. for each market. The Bell Garage on West Otterman Street offers 400 paid spots.

Attendees can also use the market’s free shuttle, which runs from 5:15 to 9 p.m. between the Greensburg Garden & Civic Center and the corner of West Pittsburgh Street and South Pennsylvania Avenue.
