Derry Township woman accused by troopers of providing 3 youths with alcohol during ATV theft
A Derry Township woman awaiting hearings on accusations of providing false information to a firearms dealer and falsely telling troopers it was stolen was jailed without bond Monday after she was accused of corruption of minors.
Tina Marie Rose, 41, of the village of Brenizer, was arrested by state police when she appeared for a scheduled hearing Monday on the firearms charges before Unity District Judge Tamara Mahady.
The new charges stem from allegations that Rose had three male teenagers assist her in the theft of a Yamaha all-terrain vehicle at 1 a.m. Friday from a resident who lives nearby, according to court documents.
Trooper Jason Kinger alleges in court documents that Rose also provided the three teens with alcohol and marijuana during the course of the theft. She also is charged with three counts of providing alcohol to minors, receiving stolen property, reckless endangerment and theft.
When Rose was questioned Saturday about the ATV, she directed police to the location of the damaged ATV “but did not admit to the aiding in the theft,” Klinger wrote in court documents.
But two of the boys told investigators that Rose provided them with alcohol and marijuana when they helped “pushed the (ATV) from the owner’s property to the street, where Rose is accused of towing it to another property.
At the time of Friday’s theft, Rose was free on $5,000 bond on the firearms complaints.
The gun charges stem a 9 mm handgun that Rose bought Jan. 20, then reported stolen five days later, police said.
Rose told police that she believed a friend of her son’s had stolen it, according to court documents. When troopers questioned 18-year-old Zachary Miller of Derry, Shephard said the teen told investigators that he provided the money for Rose to make the purchase for him.
Troopers seized the handgun and in a Feb. 11 interview, Rose admitted purchasing it for Miller. Miller also is facing multiple firearm-related charges in connection with the purchase.
Rose has a pending DUI hearing from her arrest Nov. 23 in Derry Township by state police.
Derry District Judge Kelly Tua Hammers denied bond for Rose on the recent complaints, noting the alleged ATV theft violated the prior bond conditions. A hearing on the new complaints is scheduled April 20.
