Covid deaths reported in Westmoreland County rival October numbers

Westmoreland County on Tuesday reported no additional covid-related deaths, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

With no new deaths reported, the seven-day death total in the county is six, which is the lowest it has been since October. In the last seven days, there have been no deaths reported on four of those days.

Total deaths in the Westmoreland County remain at 648, with 43 deaths reported in February so far.

Covid hospitalizations in the county were 121 on Tuesday. That is the lowest number of covid-19 patients Westmoreland County has seen since Dec. 3, when 108 were hospitalized. The county started the month with 141 hospitalized and has generally dropped since then.

There were 98 additional covid cases reported Tuesday, bringing total cases in Westmoreland County to 25,993. In February, 1,290 cases have been reported so far.
