The coronavirus case count dropped by one in Westmoreland County on Tuesday as the state continues to refine its numbers.

The subtraction of one case brings the county total to 431, according to data from the Department of Health. Case and death counts by county have continued to fluctuate as officials drill down into the data to find out if the county in which the individual got sick or died is the same as their legal county of residence.

For example, someone in a personal care home in Westmoreland County might still have a legal residence in a different county. Officials have said that type of granular data doesn’t always come immediately, and so counts can change as they receive more information about an individual.

The death toll in the county remained at 38 after jumping by six a day prior.
