Arts programming slated for Westmoreland
Arts grant applications open
Applications are open for the Westmoreland County Bureau of Parks and Recreation’s grant program, supporting arts-related projects and activities in the county.
Local nonprofit arts organizations and government entities involved in the production or display of arts activities are eligible, if their projects take place from June 1 to Dec. 31 of this year. Up to 60% project funding is available for direct costs of proposed projects, and not for general administration, capital expenses or in-kind costs.
A review board will evaluate all applications received by March 26, and applicants will be notified of grant awards by June 6.
Cultural Trust sets James Bond-inspired fundraiser
The Westmoreland Cultural Trust is putting on a spy-themed celebration for this year’s annual signature fundraiser, slated for Feb. 24 at the Palace Theatre.
The James Bond-inspired gala will direct proceeds to support Westmoreland Cultural Trust programming, facilities, people, and operations.
A limited number of tickets are available for the event, with prices ranging from $75 to $175. Attendees can participate in activities, including gaming tables in partnership with Live Casino and the Greensburg Country Club, as well as enjoy food, drinks, and music from local vendors and performers.
Pre-sale tickets for Trust members go on sale Jan. 23 at 10 a.m., with general public tickets going on sale Jan. 25 at 10 a.m.
