Band members Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock met on May 12, 1975, the first day of rehearsals for “Jesus Christ Superstar” in Sydney, Australia.
They’ve become known for their harmonies. Early in their career they opened for singer Rod Stewart across Australia and throughout the U.S. and Canada.
The duo is known for its single “Lost in Love” which went to the Top 10 in Australia. New York record producer Clive Davis discovered them and signed them with Arista Records. In 1980, “Lost in Love” became the fastest selling single in the world. It sold more than 10 million copies.
Russell and Hitchcock released their live DVD “It Was 30 Years Ago Today” in 2005 and “Mumbo Jumbo” in 2010.
Their most recent album is “The Lost In Love Experience.” Air Supply performed its 5,000th concert in 2019.
