Action For Animals Humane Society in Latrobe is seeking community help to find the person who abandoned a bin of puppies Monday morning in a Walmart parking lot.

A Westmoreland animal shelter is asking for information after a bin of puppies was found abandoned Monday morning in a store’s parking lot.

Action for Animals Humane Society posted a photo on social media, explaining how the puppies were found. The post said they were left in the Unity Walmart parking lot.

The group is asking for witnesses to come forward with any information about the event and have requested the Walmart location check its security cameras for the perpetrator.

The post said the dogs wouldn’t have lasted long in the heat, but are now safely housed in the shelter. The shelter is at full capacity and can’t accept new animals. The puppies are not currently available for adoption.

According to the Action for Animals Humane Society website, the shelter saves and adopts between 700 and 800 animals a year, and receives around 3,000 phone calls a month.
