Spooky season has ended, but there’s plenty autumn left to enjoy the crisp weather and beautiful scenery before it starts to turn cold for the winter. Here are some events taking place across Westmoreland County this weekend.
Pumpkin pitchin’
Devout Brewing in Penn Township will host its second annual “pumpkin pitchin’” event starting at 1:30 p.m. Sunday.
The brewery at 1301 Pontiac Court, opens at noon, with registration at 1:30 p.m. and pitching starting at 2:30 p.m. The cost is $10 for three pumpkins and a chance to win prizes in competition categories for distance, bullseye and buckets.

‘Rocky Horror Picture Show’
The Palace Theatre will celebrate the 50th anniversary of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” with three performances this weekend at the Greensburg Garden & Civic Center, 951 Old Salem Road.
They will be at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and at 11:55 p.m. Friday at the center, 951 Old Salem Road in Greensburg.
In the cult classic, sweethearts Brad and Janet, stuck with a flat tire during a storm, discover the eerie mansion of Dr. Frank-N-Furter. As their innocence is lost, Brad and Janet meet a houseful of wild party-goers, a zombie biker, a creepy butler and maid and their former teacher Dr. Scott all in time to see Frank unveil his latest creation: a muscular man with a tan named “Rocky.”
Admission is $15 for students and $20 for adults.
Horse trail grand opening
Second Chance Equine Association in Hunker will host a grand opening for its new horse trails from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday .
The trails take roughly a half-hour to ride. Enjoy food and refreshments along with exclusive shirts whose sale will support the association.
Second Chance is at 527 Stone Church Road in Hempfield.
Trivia night
Sacred Heart Church in Jeannette will host a fall trivia night from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday.
The evening will include trivia competition, basket raffles, a 50/50 drawing, lottery board and kielbasa, sauerkraut, macaroni and cheese, hobo beans, haluski and pizza for sale along with a cash bar.
There is no cost to attend. Participants must be 21 years old. BYOB is prohibited.
Hockey tournament
The 54th annual Laurel Hockey Tournament will take place Friday to Sunday at the Kirk S. Nevin Arena, 520 New Alexandria Road in Greensburg.
Competition will take place in 10U in the A Major and A Minor divisions, and 12U in the AA, A Major and A Minor divisions. There will be food vendors, gift basket drawings, a 50/50 drawing, puck tossing and dryer-shot contests, an appearance by former NHL player and Boston Bruin Matt Bartkowski from 1 to 3 p.m. Nov. 2, food and more.
