Friday family fun

The free event will feature stories, games, crafts and more all-ages activities with a moon theme. Visitors will have a chance to steer a BeeBot moon rover around rocks and craters, make a marshmallow rocket and pick a prize from a treasure chest.

Free museum tour

Visitors can join museum docents for a free guided tour of the featured exhibitions at 1 p.m. Saturday in The Westmoreland Museum of American Art, 221 N. Main St., Greensburg.

Current exhibits include “Gatecrashers: The Rise of the Self-Taught Artist in America,” featuring the work of post-World War I artists without formal training; “Forest of Symbolism,” five paintings showing the influence of European Symbolism on American art; and “Gavin Benjamin: Break Down and Let It All Out,” with photographic portraits of local Black community members.

The drop-in Cantilever Conversations are planned at 1 p.m. every Saturday during January.

Party like it’s 1799

Have a last holiday hurrah at the sixth annual Twelfth Night Celebration, planned for 7-9:30 p.m. Saturday in the Center for History Education at Fort Ligonier.

The evening will feature 18th-century-style food, drink, music and dancing. The Wayward Companions will play period music, while English country dance caller Peg Patterson of the Country Dance and Song Society of Pittsburgh will give instruction in popular period dances.

Refreshments will include a Twelfth Night cake, made from the recipe for Martha Washington’s Great Cake, and a punch made with Fort Ligonier’s new Forbes Road Rum. Two guests will be crowned Twelfth Night king and queen.

Admission is $50, or $40 for members. For more information, call 724-238-9701 or visit fortligonier.org.

A build-your-own bloody mary and mimosa bar will be available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at Greenhouse Winery, 2155 Gracin Lane, North Huntingdon.

Music by Bill Postle is planned for noon to 3 p.m.
