The Easter Bunny reacts as he chats with Isabella Barnhart, 4, of Hempfield at Westmoreland Mall in 2023.

Folks seem to have taken Punxsutawney Phil seriously when he declared an early spring. With the arrival of March, there are a few Easter activities to get in a festive mood, along with art, wine and music events.

Easter Bunny at Westmoreland Mall

Shoppers at the Westmoreland Mall on Route 30 in Hempfield can expect to see a special guest Friday. The Easter Bunny will be making an appearance in the mall’s Easter Bunny Garden at 11 a.m.

Mall management is asking that guests reserve times for photos with the Bunny. The Easter Garden will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and from noon to 6 p.m. Sundays.

The Palace Theatre: Little River Band

Topping the charts in the 1970s and 1980s, the Little River Band is going strong with a performance planned for 8 p.m. Friday at The Palace Theatre in Greensburg.

The Australian rock band is led by 41-year member Wayne Nelson. Ticket prices range from $59.75 to $79.75.

Women in Art Biennial

You are Here Jeannette will host an opening reception for Women in Art Biennial, a cooperative exhibit from You Are Here gallery and art professor Maureen Kochanek, at 5 p.m. Saturday.

The exhibit includes works from 28 artists with themes of “nature versus nurture, female connection to the natural world, the male and female gaze and the fully realized body.”

Works will be presented in a variety of media.

The gallery is at 406 Clay Ave. For more information, visit yah406clay.org.

Easter egg acrylic pouring class

Before Peter Cottontail comes hopping down the bunny trail, start decorating early with Hempfield’s Painting With a Twist acrylic egg pouring class at noon Sunday.

For $30, participants have their choice of colors to pour over two ceramic eggs. Finished products will be left in the studio to dry for a few days. Anyone younger than 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Guests are welcome to bring their own beverages and snacks but need to be 21 years or older to consume alcohol on the premises.

Painting With a Twist is at 1020 Towne Square Drive. For more information, visit paintingwithatwist.com.

Live Casino: Wine ’n Women Purse Palooza

WineFestPA will be hosting a Wine ’n Purse Palooza from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at Live Casino in Hempfield.

In true palooza fashion, the event will include wine tastings, mingling and purse shopping. For $15 guests can attend the event and enter to win a free purse.
