Amateur naturalists are invited to help with a “bioblitz” from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday at Keystone State Park in Derry Township.
Participants can hike the McCune Run or Davis Run trails during the day and and compile a list of all of the living things they can see and identify along the way. A staff member or volunteer will be available at the trail heads to provide materials, resources and information on locations being tracked.
Bioblitz information will be used to get a snapshot of ecological communities within the park, as management explores innovative and sustainable methods of resource management.
Questions about participating or volunteering for the event can be emailed to jkeene@pa.gov.
