Fair enough

The Claridge Fair continues through the weekend at the Bushy Run Soccer Complex, 100 Kuch Lane, Penn Township. Hours will be 5 to 11 p.m. Friday and noon to 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The event will feature rides, games for all ages, live music, food, beer and specialty drinks, along with vendors on Saturday and Sunday.

The Miss Firecracker Contest will be held at 7 p.m. Friday. Fireworks are scheduled for 9 p.m. Sunday.

No sad songs

Hailing from Toronto, Canada, Elton Rohn will play at 7 p.m. Friday in Greensburg’s St. Clair Park as part of the SummerSounds weekly concert series.

Billed as “the elite Elton John tribute of North America,” the eight-piece band is fronted by Ron Camilleri, who brings the voice, piano, look and feel of the iconic “Rocket Man” to the stage. Backed for the evening by the Westmoreland Symphony Strings, the group will present a show that recalls a 1970s Elton John concert.

Pre-show music will be by Pittsburgh singer/songwriter Henry Bachorski.

Abracadabra

Magician Steve Haberman will perform at 10 a.m. Saturday at Peoples Library, 880 Barnes St., New Kensington.

The Pittsburgh entertainer’s show will celebrate the library’s summer theme, “Oceans of Possibilities.” Haberman’s act includes a blend of magic, comedy, mind-reading and audience involvement.

Always in vogue

Turtle Creek’s own Chuck Blasko and The Vogues will perform a two-hour set at 6 p.m. Saturday in the amphitheater at Hempfield Park, 220 Forbes Trail Road.

The group gained fame with a string of mid-1960s hits, including “Turn Around Look at Me,” “You’re the One,” “Five O’Clock World” and “Earth Angel.”

The free concerts in the park are scheduled every other Saturday through Sept. 17. For information, visit hempfieldtwp.com.

Free movie night

The original “Raiders of the Lost Ark” movie will be shown at 7 p.m. Saturday in The Lamp Theatre, 222 Main St., Irwin.

Released in 1981, the action-adventure movie stars Harrison Ford as an archaeologist racing a band of Nazis to find a the long-lost, biblical Ark of the Covenant, which the Nazis think will make their armies invincible.

Free reserved tickets are available at the Lamp box office and these downtown Irwin locations: John Gdula Insurance Agency, Candy’s Corner Cafe, Feather’s Artist Market and Gifts, Norwin Chamber of Commerce, McFeely’s Gourmet Chocolate, Junque Genius, Gift Basket World and Interiors by Woleslagle.
