With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, there’s plenty of events to attend and show love to your community. Here’s five things to do in Westmoreland this weekend:

Alliance for Creative Rural Economies art exhibit

On Friday at 6 p.m., You Are Here Jeannette will host an opening reception to mark the beginning of an exhibit of artwork created by Alliance for Creative Rural Economies of Johnstown, Greensburg, Wheeling and New Kensington members. Sponsored by Bridgeway Capital, the exhibit includes voices across the region in a show of art, music and craft.

The exhibit at 406 Clay Ave. will run until Feb. 17. For more, visit yah406clay.org.

Helltown Mt. Pleasant chili cook-off

This Saturday, Helltown Brewing in Mt. Pleasant will be hosting its third annual chili cook-off.

The tasting competition will begin at noon. There are no sign-ups to compete, but cooks are asked to arrive early to set up their cooking stations. The top three competitors will win prizes.

Guests can pay $5 to taste and judge chili entries. All proceeds will be donated to spay and neuter at Best Buddies Clinic.

Live music and raffles will take place after the event at 13 Henry C. Frick St. For more, visit allevents.in.

Conservation banquet

On Saturday, beginning at 1:30 p.m., The Keystone Elk Country Alliance will host the annual Westmoreland Chapter Conservation Banquet at the Rizzo’s Malabar Inn in Crabtree.

Dinner will begin at 3:30. Throughout the event, the alliance will host live and silent auctions. Some prizes include an Elk Mountain homestead stay and horse drawn wagon ride for up to 22 people at the Elk Country Visitor Center.
