Khaleesi Lewis, 6, of Greensburg, works on a snowflake craft during the Family Fun Night on Friday, Jan. 20, 2023 at the Greensburg YMCA in downtown Greensburg.

From family fun nights to liquor sales, there’s something to do for everyone this weekend.

‘Home for the Holidays’

At 7:30 p.m. Saturday, the Westmoreland Symphony Orchestra will be performing its annual sing-along show,” Home for the Holidays,” at the Palace Theatre in Greensburg.

The show will feature guest conductor Andrés Franco, retired resident conductor of the Pittsburgh Symphony, music director of the Signature Symphony and the current executive director of City of Asylum. The All-Star Choir of Westmoreland County will make an appearance.

Fort Ligonier Spirits Sale

From 10 a.m until 5 p.m. Saturday, Fort Ligonier’s museum store in Ligonier will host its last Spirits Sale of the year.

The shop will be selling a specially produced white rum, Queen Charlotte’s Courage, and St. Clair’s Spirits, a Pennsylvania white rye whiskey.

Unveiled in September, Queen Charlotte’s Courage Rum is the second in a series of three new distilled beverages. The liquor was produced by Pittsburgh-based Wigle Whiskey, and the bottle’s label is inspired by a portrait of British Queen Charlotte from the studio of Allan Ramsay, circa 1762-80, on display at the Fort Ligonier museum’s art gallery.

Proceeds from sales of Queen Charlotte’s Courage benefit Fort Ligonier’s preservation projects.

St. Clair’s Spirits is a white rye whiskey made specially for Fort Ligonier by Scottdale-based West Overton Distilling Co. The new whiskey pays tribute to Arthur St. Clair, an aide-de-camp to George Washington, and the first governor of the Northwest Territory.

This is the first time that West Overton Distilling Co. has produced a white rye whiskey for another entity and with rye grown entirely at West Overton since the 1800s.

The sale will continue while supplies last. For more, visit fortligonier.org.

Greensburg YMCA Family Fun Night

The Greensburg YMCA will open its gymnasium doors at 5:30 p.m. Friday to host its monthly Family Fun Night.

This month’s event will be themed “Jolly Holiday at the Y” and will include family-friendly activities such as themed crafts and sports activities. Two “special visitors from the North Pole” are expected to make an appearance. Holiday Smiley cookies will be provided by Eat’n Park.

Christmas Night Market

From 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday, the Diocese of Greensburg will host a Christmas Night Market at Christ Our Shepherd Center on Seminary Drive in Greensburg.

The event will be made up of indoor and outdoor events. There will be outdoor attractions such as holiday lights, carolers and bonfires. Food and craft vendors will be positioned inside the center.
