Sip and Sparkle Party

Greenhouse Winery’s Westmoreland Mall location in Hempfield is inviting guests to its second Sip and Sparkle Party this Sunday.

The winery will be partnering with Sarah’s Crystal Creations to host an event where guests can make their own jewelry from 12 available patterns for necklaces or bracelets and over 30 crystal colors to be set as earrings. Earrings are priced at $15 each, bracelets are priced at $32 each and necklaces are priced at $55 each. Tools and materials will be provided.

Starting at 1 p.m., guests are able to sip some Greenhouse wine while crafting their jewelry. A $5 reservation is required to have a seat during the event. As in previous years, the festival band is made up of area musicians. The festival band conductor for 2024 will be Steve Baldanzi, who is music director for the Allegheny Brass Band and the director of bands at North Allegheny High School.

The event is free to the public. Doors will open at 1 p.m. with performances starting at 2 p.m. For more, visit ewsb.org.

Bushy Run Park Day 2024

Bushy Run’s 2024 Park Day will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday under the park’s pavilion next to the main parking lot, 1253 Route 993, Penn Township.

In partnership with the American Battlefield Trust, Bushy Run Battlefield is asking for volunteers to help keep the battlefield clean by picking up garbage, fallen tree limbs and pulling invasive plant life that threatens the park’s natural ecosystem.

Volunteers are asked to bring gardening gloves, wear thick boots if they have them and dress for the weather. Lunch will be provided to volunteers at noon.

To register as a volunteer, email manager@bushyrunbattlefield.com.
