Don’t tell the youngsters, but the guy in the Easter bunny costume actually was Dan Showalter

The Verona Planning Commission member continued to be an active participant in community events by portraying the kids’ seasonal favorite during the Verona Chamber of Commerce Easter Egg Hunt on April 8 at Railroad Park.

Stefani Garibay, chamber president, thanked everyone who volunteered to make the event happen. On the organization’s Facebook page, she especially acknowledged Verona Volunteer Fire Company; chamber members Kevin Ewing, Mike Vento, Mike Nuckels, Jen Walzer, Mayor Dave Ricupero and borough council member Trish Hredzak-Showalter; and fellow council members Vince Flotta, Red Craig and Tim Long.

Also on the gratitude list are Linnahasse Farms for bringing actual rabbits, balloon artist Ray Lucas for sharing his talents and Bull River Taco-PGH for bringing a food truck to satisfy lunchtime appetites.

And of course, the guy in the bunny costume is on there, as well.
