Bowl-A-Thon to raise money for foundation

The annual Bowl-A-Thon sponsored by Burrell Education Foundation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Feb. 16 at Wildlife Lanes, 1000 Wildlife Lodge Road, Lower Burrell.

Cost is $25 per bowler; $45 for 2 or $90 for a 4-person team. There will be prizes, a silent auction and 50/50. Sponsorship opportunities are available.

Volunteers needed at Animal Protectors of Allegheny Valley

Animal Protectors of Allegheny Valley is looking for volunteers to help out at the shelter in New Kensington.

There are opportunities available every day to suit every person including dog and cat care, event and fundraising work, cleaning, maintenance, doggy day outs, fostering, office work and administration.

West Deer

Feb. 2: Allegheny County Park rangers will host a free guided hike “Groundhog Day” from 1 to 3 p.m. at Deer Lakes Park. Meet at the Veterans 1 shelter.
