The Tarentum Dunkin’ reopened last week after a closure by the Allegheny County Health Department for a sewage leak and other violations, records show.

The East 10th Avenue coffee and doughnut shop was ordered to close May 21 after an inspection that same day. Inspectors noted sewage coming from a grease trap, leaving a large puddle on the floor that employees were tracking throughout the shop.

Inspectors cited other violations as well, including a buildup of pink residue near the ice maker and dust and other residue built up on the ventilation system. Other low-risk issues included torn freezer gaskets and ice dumped in the employee hand-washing sink.

Employees and managers also couldn’t find the shop’s health permit, according to records.

A reinspection of the location May 25 showed a new grease trap was installed and functioning properly and all other violations had been taken care of.
