The Allegheny River Development Corp (ARDC) along with state lawmakers and the Department of Environmental Protection will tour flood damage in the Rimer area of Armstrong County along the Allegheny River on Monday and hold a public meeting at 1 p.m. at the Madison Township Building, 107 Lawsonham Road, Widnoon, Pa.
The ARDC is a nonprofit that raises money and works with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to operate the four locks and dams on the river in Armstrong County on weekends and holidays in the summer.
“At issue is the damage caused by flooding that is directly attributable to the loss of dredging on the Allegheny River,” ARDC said in its release.
The meeting is open to all who are concerned with the future of the Allegheny River.
