O’Hara is one step closer to its goal of improving pedestrian safety in RIDC Park.

The township on Thursday was awarded $200,000 to install sidewalks along Alpha and Gamma drives.

The phased project is expected to improve opportunities for people who work in the park and neighbors who live nearby and walk through the campus. It includes 13,500 square feet of walkways and 17 ADA ramps.

The grant was among more than $5.2 million in Local Share Account funding awarded for local projects.

It is the second consecutive year that O’Hara received money toward the work. The township also got $200,000 last year.
