A Brackenridge police officer was taken to the hospital after falling backward onto a concrete sidewalk while breaking up a fight Sunday at the Sheldon Park Apartments in Harrison, according to authorities.
Officers were dispatched to the public housing complex after residents called 911 to report a large fight at around 8:30 p.m., according to Harrison police Chief Michael Klein.
The officer, who was trying to separate a group of about seven juveniles, was taken to Allegheny Valley Hospital to be evaluated for a possible injury, the chief said.
Brackenridge borough officials could not verify Monday afternoon whether the officer had suffered an injury.
Police said the fight scene was made even more chaotic by an unrelated incident in which a man suffering a seizure entered the home of a nearby resident.
The incident is still being reviewed to determine if charges will be filed against any of the fight’s participants.
